Addition Allergens/Modifications: Dairy: use a dairy free milk & yogurt alternative If you plan on making yogurt weekly, store the new starter in the refrigerator. Otherwise, store the new starter in the freezer and thaw when needed. The longer it hangs, the thicker the yogurt becomes. *Note: The starter is either a plain yogurt from the store or a cup of the yogurt that was made and stored from the prior homemade batch. It is loaded with the healthy bacteria to boost the fermentation process.
